Here’s what’s happening at Club Bathurst Pickleball Club…

The fall session is in full swing. We currently have 15 groups playing with full membership, and 7 tentative groups that are accepting new members. However, there is still a shortage of group leaders. If being a group leader is something you’ve been thinking about, but you have some questions, please send me an email and we can discuss it further, kimberleyduclos@gmail.com.

The Club Bathurst Pickleball Club now has a Kids League for grades 5 through 12 under the leadership of Jean-Francois Lagace. If you are interested in your children learning this great game, you can email him at jean-francois.lagace@nbed.nb.ca for more information. What a fantastic addition to the Club and the community! We hope to have an unofficial tournament in the spring with other Kids ’Leagues that have started in the Acadian Peninsula.

The ‘Introduction to Pickleball ’clinic taking place on Sunday mornings at the Pavilion has had a good turn-out and registration is full. Pickleball is growing fast in our community and I’m proud that we, as a Club, are doing what we can to make it available to more people, with an emphasis on developing their skills in a clinic style setting.

We are now offering drop-in play on Saturdays! It will be for 2 hours anytime between 3:00 and 8:00pm. As Saturdays can be busy both socially & recreationally for our volunteers, the exact time will be determined on Fridays and posted on our Facebook page. There is a limit of 20 people, first come, first serve. The cost is $5.00 at the door. This is for members only, and all levels are welcome. Members may bring a guest for one 2 hour session. Their guest must sign a liability waiver at the door. If their guest wishes to attend future sessions, full Club membership is required.
